Death Record of Jakob Ecker, 6 Feb 1845

This is the death record of Jakob Ecker, the father of Abraham Wilhelm Ecker.   I will step through the columns as best I can for this record and as a reference for other death records placed in this site.

Column 1: His was the second death of 1845 recorded in the church records. Column 2: Name: Jakob Ecker, born (geb.) here, birth date 21 Dec 1807.  Column 3: I think the 'B' is an abbreviation for 'Bürger' meaning citizen, followed by his occupation of 'kraemer' or shopkeeper or peddler. (He is no longer known as a müller.)  The middle line is the religion evangel(ish), and the third line 'hier' here. The fourth column are his parents, Johannes Ecker, Bürger and müller hier, and Gottliebien ?Kraus. The fifth column is the spouse, Juliana Rosina g(eb) Fischer.

On the facing page, Column 1: is the age at death, 37 year 2 month 21 days. The second column is the cause of death, 'auszehurng", which means consumption or phthisis. These are terms usually associated with pulmonary tuberculosis and is compatible with his young age at death. The next two columns are the date and time of death (6 Feb midday 12:30) and burial (9 Feb, ( part of day) and 9:00) and the place-Unterreichenbach.  The last column is the number of the Family Register #43.
